Privacy & cookies

Who is responsible?

Your choice

Google Analytics is optional. Before you agree, its scripts are not loaded and no Analytics requests are sent. Refusing does not restrict access to this website. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using . Withdrawal applies to future collection; it does not undo earlier processing.

Local preferences

The browser stores your chosen language and your Analytics decision locally for up to 180 days. These preferences contain a value, a timestamp and a version number, not a visitor identifier. They are used only to honour your choices. No language preference is saved until you choose a language. You can delete these records in your browser’s website-data settings. Without browser storage, preferences may need to be selected again.

Google Analytics: only with consent

With your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR, Google Analytics 4 measures page visits and interactions, including page address, referrer, browser/device information and cookie identifiers. Google receives the IP address needed for the connection. The provider is Google Ireland Limited; data may also be processed by Google LLC in the USA. Google Signals and advertising personalisation are disabled by this website. Query strings and fragments are excluded from the page address configured for Analytics.

Analytics cookies and retention

Analytics may set _ga and _ga_* cookies on this website. They are configured to expire after at most 180 days without automatic renewal. Refusing or withdrawing consent removes accessible Analytics cookies on this domain and stops further Analytics collection. Data already sent to Google is subject to the Analytics property’s retention settings; cookie expiry does not itself delete that data. See Google’s information about partner sites, Google’s privacy policy and international data transfers.

Local security logs: 30 days

The lighttpd web server keeps local access logs containing IP address, time, URL and User-Agent for 30 days. Their purpose is reliable operation, detecting abusive automated requests and defending the website against attacks. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in network and information security under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. These logs are separate from Google Analytics, do not require an Analytics cookie and are not switched off by refusing Analytics.

Resources on older pages

Some tools and older pages load fonts, scripts or map resources from external services, including Google Fonts, Google’s library CDN, jsDelivr, unpkg, cdnjs, DataTables, jQuery and OpenLayers. Loading these resources sends connection information such as your IP address to the respective provider. The Analytics choice controls Google Analytics; it does not block those functional resources or external links.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable conditions, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent at any time. Contact the address above. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority, including the Belgian Data Protection Authority.
