The migration to the new infrastructure is now complete. The website has moved from the old Raspberry Pi 3 to a dedicated HP server, and all Python processing has been relocated to a Raspberry Pi 5. Performance should be noticeably faster, and stability should be significantly improved. If you encounter any issues, please contact me at erik@f97.io.

The Migration Is Complete

After several days of preparation the migration of my entire web platform is now complete. What began as a small experiment on a Raspberry Pi 3 has grown into a fully fledged setup with a dedicated HP server for the website and a Raspberry Pi 5 for all data processing. The old Pi 3 served faithfully for many years, tucked away in an F Tronic enclosure, but the increasing traffic and the growing number of dashboards eventually pushed it beyond what its limited hardware could deliver.

The new architecture is cleaner and noticeably faster. The HP server now handles all web requests and delivers all files with the kind of speed that only proper server hardware can provide. A Raspberry Pi 5 has taken over the Python workloads and processes Fronius data, weather forecasts, GTI modelling and all other tasks with ease. Both systems now work together without interfering with each other, and the result is a stable and responsive platform that should comfortably handle whatever the next years bring.

From my side all necessary steps have been completed, the routing is updated and the certificates are renewed correctly on the new machine. Everything should operate normally, and many pages should feel faster than before.

If you notice anything that behaves strangely, if a graph does not load, or if any dashboard throws an error, you can reach me directly at erik@f97.io.

Feedback is always appreciated, especially right after such a large migration.

The lights are on, the system is live, and the upgrade is finally done.
